How to make cocoa persimmon pie?

When it comes to healthy desserts, the best results are obtained when the ingredients are low. Fruits are often in the lead.

Toast is a traditional dessert in many countries and there are several different ways to prepare it. You just need a little imagination to come up with different combinations of ingredients and flavors.

The most common method of preparation is oven baking and a water bath. You can add fruit, plant drinks to the recipe or change the traditional version and make it sugar-free.

Option 1: Cocoa persimmon pie without sugar, eggs or milk

Only a little cocoa powder and fresh persimmons are needed to make this option. It only takes a few minutes to make.

Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 900 g persimmons (peeled and cut)
  • 70 g of 100% cocoa powder

Manufacturing

  1. Peel and chop the persimmons into medium-sized pieces first and mix in a blender to obtain a creamy texture.
  2. Add the cocoa powder and mix until smooth.
  3. Pour into separate pans and cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate the pans for at least six hours (overnight if possible)
  4. You can take the pans out of the fridge after that. The texture may look a little different compared to a traditional toast, but it tastes just as good.

This dessert is very suitable for sugar-free as it contains only natural sugars. Just like eating fruit with cocoa powder.

It is also suitable for people suffering from intolerance and allergies. Celiacs can also eat it if you use 100% cocoa powder.

If you want the pie a little sweeter, you can add a sweetener, although  it is always better to get used to the right taste of the fruit. If desired, add a touch of cinnamon or vanilla to enhance the taste.

Option 2: Cocoa persimmon pie with eggs

This is a traditional toast, but made at home and using fruit as the main ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 450 g of ripe persimmons
  • 40 g of 100% cocoa powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 1.5 dl of sugar
  • 1 dl sugar for caramelization

Manufacturing

  1. Peel and chop the persimmons first and set aside.
  2. Caramelize by putting 1 dl of sugar in a saucepan and adding a small amount of water. Boil until the mixture melts and pour into the mold to cover the base.
  3. Combine fruit and cocoa powder. The mixture should be thick and even in structure.
  4. Beat the eggs in another bowl with the sugar and add to the fruit-cocoa mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold over the caramelization and cover with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees or in a water bath for an hour. The pie is ready when you dip a fork in it and it comes out clean.
  6. Take the pie out of the oven and set aside to cool. Put in the fridge for at least two hours (preferably prepare the dessert the day before to make it taste and texture better).
  7. You can reduce the amount of sugar in the preparation by skipping the caramelization and adding the crushed nuts on top of the pie after taking it out of the mold.
You can eat healthy while enjoying the sweetness of persimmon.
